Workshop: Python for Biologists

Time for the live Zoom tutorials: 9 am - 11 pm, self-learning period in advance of the tutorials
Course content: The workshop teaches you how to analyze, interpret and visualize scientific data to create publication ready plots as well as good programming practice, version control with GIT and virtual environments.
The workshop consists of 4 modules (see below).
Every module contains
- a 60-90 min video lecture available on https://moodle.training-scientists.de/ that the participants can watch whenever it suits them best
- exercises for the participants to apply what they have learned (3-4 hs)
- a live Zoom tutorial to answer questions (90-120 min)
Module 1 on May 23: Good programming practice, Notebook structure, Extensions, shortcuts
Module 2 on May 26: Intro, Installation, Syntax, PEP8, FirstExamples
Module 3 on May 30: Data analysis, Big Data, Numpy, Pandas
Module 4 on June 2: Visualization, Advanced Plotting, Matplotlib, String Formatting
